Project Sekai has great stories to offer, with great gameplay as well.
Project Sekai (also known as Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage) is a fun rhythm game with Vocaloids (now known as Cryptonloids, I believe...?) and is safe for everyone 12 and up. This game's vocals are in Japanese and a few songs have a mature undertone to it, I believe that it's best for teens. The stories have good lessons to learn.

Super fun and surprisingly free to play
Played this game for well over a year now and it’s really great. It’s essentially an idol/rhythm game featuring vocaloids (voice synthesizers, for example Hatsune Miku). There is a story that you can read and the rhythm aspect of the game itself. I love the story and characters and the songs are really fun to play. There is also a gacha aspect (using in game currency to try and roll for characters) which is why I would call it an idol game over a rhythm game. If you’re a parent you might want to keep in mind that some songs are not only explicit but some have dark/adult meanings. I believe there are two songs in which a character drops the f bomb which I personally didn’t notice until someone pointed it out to me. A handful of the other songs have sexual undertones/explicitly include, namely ifudoudou and The Vampire but there are a handful like Romeo and Cinderella that also have it. There are depressing songs like Ash*te Ash*te Ash*te which is a song about a girl whose parents pressure her to be the best and pretty much make her go insane (but it’s such a good song😭😭) and Hated by Life Itself which is pretty self explanatory among other sad songs like Goodbye which I believe is the only touchy song in English added to the en version of the game. *spoilers for story* in the Nightcord at 25:00 story a character named Mafuyu Ashina states how she wants to disappear and she knows the rest of her group members do too. N25 is really a whole thing about Mafuyu’s abusive parents, Kanade’s dead mom and hospitalized dad, Ena’s feelings of not being good enough, and Mizuki’s past being lonely and rough. Though they all do help each other get through it and there is no SH or anything like that. Another group has a girl who was hospitalized and used to always feel lonely, and her brother was kept home alone because her parents where busy taking care of her leading him to have a pretty sad childhood. A handful of characters used to be bullied/are teased but never in a positive light. In the end the story has a good message. In comments sense medias review, they mention how it’s a bit pay to play but I disagree. I’ve never felt obligated to spend anything in my year and a half of playing. In short this is a really fun and cute game with lovable stories and characters that is worth checking out.

Some stories covers the topic of abusive relationship, depression, mental health, suicide, so please play at your own risk
Personally I am a fan of Mafuyu Asahina, one of the character in the gameHonestly I think to relate to these characters you have to be old enough. There’re 5 bands in total.I only read one of the bands (Niigo/ Nightcord At 25:00)It covers the topic of suicide, depression, abusive relationship etcPersonally I, as a 13 year old can relate to that. And that’s why I like the game so muchThe games are also good if you’re into Japanese and Vocaloid music like me :)

It has dark themes but I LOVE it! ^^
I've been playing the game for almost 2 years, and i love it!Colourful stage (also known as Project Sekai) is a rhythm game, you can play different vocaloid songs. It features Hatsune Miku and other vocaloids.there are teenage characters in the game as well. There are a lot of dark themes in the stories such as suicide and depression. The songs are fine, but a few talk about sex and some are also about depression.

Love the game, Recommended for Mature 9+
I have been playing this game for a while now, and I must say that it has exceeded my expectations. The graphics are stunning, and the gameplay is smooth and engaging. The virtual concerts are a real treat, and I find myself getting lost in the music and the atmosphere. As someone who comes from a family with a strong musical background, I appreciate the attention to detail that has gone into the game's sound design. The instruments sound authentic, and the songs are well-crafted and catchy. However, I do have to mention that some of the songs can be a bit sexual, which may not be suitable for younger players. That being said, the game is perfect for improving hand-to-eye coordination, and I believe it can be a great tool for children who are interested in music.Overall, I would highly recommend this game to anyone who loves music and wants to have some fun while improving their skills. As for me, I just need to get my hands on an Emu 4 so I can take a WONDAHOI improvement.(And especially being in the Vocaloid fandom for 2 1/2 years, this is one of the best apps that is related to SEGA/Vocaloid)

So cute and fun
Very cute and fun except makes me rage. Songs are good and are vocaloid songs and some make me a little nostalgic. Characters look cute and fun. Wonderland x Showtime is probably the happiest group so i would have your children choose them, however, more more jump and Leo/need are good too. Nightchord at 25:00 is good but has more dark songs. Vivid bad squad has a very… questionable song which everyone knows of. Protect your kids from “ifuudoudou”. That’s because the lyrics are very strange, well, are questionable, it’s about something very inappropriate, you can look at the lyrics yourself though. Its a great song though. Another song “two faced lovers” which the review below me states is that the song’s storyline is that the two vocaloids miku hatsune and Len kagamine did the dirty, miku got preggo, and got abortion or something. So be careful about the songs. But besides that I would recommend to get this game! Also I think that younger kids 11-12 that are more mature can get this game which is why I rate it 11+

Great rhythm game for Vocaloid fans, new and old alike!
It's one of my favourite games. There is many things to do and there are 6 units, all being child friendly. The only song I would consider slightly inappropriate is Ifuudoudou, only because of the moaning at the intro and outro to the song.

some dark/heavy topics
dark/heavy themes for mainly the group 25ji and songs about sex and suicide. but would still recommend if you like music or rhythm games if you dont care much about the japanese lyrics. if you are a parent, watch out for the songs "ifuudoudou" and/or "romeo and cinderella" :) P.S. the fandom is mostly about LGBTQ+, if you are religious it's fine to play the game as long as you dont mess with the fandom.

healthy fandom, and easy gameplay
i've been playing this game for years, and here's what I love1. levels for songs of all kinds- if a song that's too hard is selected in co-op, just play on easy or normal!2. no hyper-competitive anything- the only form of communication in co-op is stickers, which are only positive and the chat in virtual shows, which no one uses3. tons of new events4. there's mostly no songs with sex, drugs, etc. the only ones are in japanese. and then there's also goodbye but shush

Great game with some mature content
Great themes and wonderful story. However, some songs and themes can be inappropriate for younger children, namely concerning sex and dark topics. There's also a lot of consumerism present with the game shoving crystal and game pass purchase prompts in your face.
